Cupping therapy in Murray.

For the deep, achy tightness that pressing on it never quite reaches: gentle suction that lifts the tissue, restores blood flow, and lets a stubborn area finally let go.

What It Is

Pressure down. Relief up.

Most hands-on work presses down into a tight muscle. Cupping does the opposite. Gentle suction lifts the skin and the tissue underneath, creating space where everything had been compressed and stuck.

That lift pulls fresh blood into the area and eases the tight fascia wrapped around the muscle. The result is less of that deep, dull tightness, and more room to move. You may see temporary circular marks after. They aren’t bruises, and they fade in a few days.

It’s not a random spa treatment here. Where the cups go is decided by your cause-first evaluation, so we decompress the tissue that’s actually holding your pain. You’re good at pushing through tight and sore. This is how we get ahead of it before it becomes something you push through for years.

What It Helps

Where cupping shines.

If an area feels deeply tight and pressing on it never quite reaches, decompressing the tissue often does. Leave it, and the tightness spreads, pulling on everything around it until the ache feels like it’s everywhere.

Questions, Answered

Cupping, no mystery.

Most people describe it as a firm pull, not pain, and many find it relaxing once the cups settle. You’ll feel the tissue lift, and often relief as the tight area lets go. Your Doctor of Physical Therapy adjusts the suction to what feels right for you, and it’s always optional.

They aren’t bruises. The circular marks come from blood drawn up toward the surface as the tissue decompresses, not from impact. They’re painless, they vary from light pink to deep red depending on how much tension was there, and they typically fade within a few days.

It depends on your plan, and coverage varies from one insurer to the next. We verify your exact benefits before your first session, so there’s no surprise on your bill. Questions before then? Call us at (385) 743-2757.
